The Key to Unity
The Key to Unity
“…in all things he might have the preeminence.” —Colossians 1:18
Unity amongst the brethren is a beautiful thing (Psalm 133:1). The key to achieving unity is for everyone to rally around a single thing. It is impossible to have unity when everyone is doing their own thing.
Think of the spokes of a wheel revolving around a common hub. The closer any point might be to the center on any of the spokes, the closer that point will be to any other as it draws near to the center. The farther away such points are from the hub, the farther those points will be from each other.
When Jesus is at the center of the circumference of our church activities we can achieve unity. As we draw closer to Him as the preeminent One in our ministries, we also draw closer to each other in the process. The result is beautiful harmony. But as people move away from the center, we draw farther apart and discord results.
Make Christ the central hub and draw closer to Him.
