A Brand Snatched from the Burning
A Brand Snatched from the Burning!
Is not this a brand plucked out of the fire? —Zechariah 3:2
While no one knows how soon until they will die, it is certainly true that an unsaved person is just one step away from hell (1 Sam. 20:3). The longer someone lives without Jesus, the less likely they will get saved.
Yesterday I received a testimony from one of our missionaries who we support as a hospital chaplain. Eleven years ago he visited a lady in the hospital who was 87 years old at the time. Her name was Ethel. He had not seen her again until recently. Her daughter contacted him and asked if he would come to visit her. Ethel was now 98 years old and wanted to talk about “her relationship with God.”
When he visited her, it was evident God was dealing with her about salvation, and the missionary chaplain lead her to Christ. Praise God! No one is ever too old to get saved!
I just got an email from him that Ethel just went to be with the Lord exactly two weeks after she got saved at 98 years old. She was only 14 days away from hell. She was literally “as a firebrand plucked out the the burning” (Amos 4:11).
Dear friend, every unsaved person is as good as in hell unless someone reaches them with the saving Gospel of Christ before it is too late. Remember, the Gospel is only “good news” if it reaches the lost soul in time!
Who do you need to witness to? You may be their last chance to hear the Gospel.
Others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire. — Jude 23
