TODAY … THAT DAY

TODAY … THAT DAY

To day if ye will hear his voice” —Hebrews 4:7

“I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.” — 2 Timothy 1:12

God’s calendar has only two days— “today” and “that day.” “Today” is the day of salvation (2 Cor. 6:2). “That day” is the prophetic day of the Lord (1 Thess. 5:2). The person who is ready for “that day” is ready for any day.

Believers need to keep their eyes on both days. Some of Christians are near-sighted. Some are far-sighted. Paul may have had trouble with his physical eyes, but he had no spiritual astigmatism. He lived with one eye on “today” and the other eye focused on “that day”“Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:13).

Until “that day” arrives remember, This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalms 118:24).

“Today” could also be “that day!”
