PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING

PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. —Philippians 4:6

There is no matter to trivial, or too small, to bring to God in prayer. “Be careful for NOTHING.” Instead of being full of care, we are go cast our cares upon the Lord, and He will sustain us, instead of our striving to sustain ourselves (Ps. 55:22).

I was recently blessed by the testimony of one of our church members who was having car troubles. Her vehicle was her only means of transportation to church and work. She took her need to the Lord and God provided for the repairs of her car.

It reminded me of the great English preacher, Rowland Hill (1744-1833). He was a firm believer in committing every difficulty to the care of the Savior. He believed that no trouble was too secular or too trivial to bring to the throne of grace. While on a speaking tour, he stayed at the home of a Christian family in Scotland. One morning they overheard him praying that God to cure his disabled horse since it was his only means of transportation. Much to their amazement the horse made an unusual and rapid recovery.

“O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear.
All because we do not carry, Everything to God in prayer!”
