JOB 33: Elihu’s Viewpoint

Elihu sees things different from Job’s other three friends.  Eliaphaz, Bildad, and Zophar reasoned Job’s suffering was God punishing him for his sin and being a hypocrite.  Elihu introduces a new insight as to why Job is suffering. Instead of suffering being punitive, it may be protective—God using suffering to prevent someone from going the wrong way and ending up in the pit (vs. 16-18, 24).

I.   An APPEAL to hear.

II.  An ADMONITION to heed.
