Pastor Tim Parrish (First Baptist Church, Warren, MI)
Barb and I attended the First Baptist Church of Warren, MI Sunday morning. What a tremendous blessing to become reacquainted with Tim Parrish again. Tim Parrish is the son of my first pastor, Dr. Henry H. Parrish at Ecorse Baptist Temple. We both were members at this church in the late 1960’s and attended Midwestern at that time. Barb reminded me that Brother Tim has been my friend in ministry longer than any other person. We’ve known each other for over 50 years.
Tim Parrish was called to pastor the First Baptist Church in Warren, MI in 1969. He has been the pastor of this same church for about 50 years! Praise God! What a testimony of faithfulness. Not many pastors can say they’ve pastored the same church for 50 years! The church service this morning was wonderful—Simple (no frills), uplifting singing, verse-by-verse preaching, great liberty, Christ exalting, and folksy. Loved it!
Tim’s wife’s name is Pam. She has a wonderful testimony and is “on fire for the Lord!” Praise the Lord! She are Barb “hit-it-off” great! Tim and I shared memories of our time together 50 years ago. Wow… how time flies!
The building for First Baptist Church of Warren, MI is a historical landmark going back to 1857. There is a bronze plaque is posted outside the church commemorating this building—The oldest building in Warren still in regular use.
Please pray for this church and Pastor Tim Parrish. He is a little older than I am, and had some health issues in the past… But he still preaches with fervor and power! Amen! Visit them on Facebook (FirstBaptistWarren). [www.FBCWMICH.ORG]

We really enjoyed ourselves with you. I hope we can get together again. you know I love to travel. Lol
Pam, Please tell your husband, Tim, that seeing him again after 50 years was one of the great highlights of our trip so far. God bless you! We will be remembering you and the good people at First Baptist in our prayers.
When I was a young Christian, I often wondered if there were still godly men that stayed in the ministry for more than just a few years. You, Preacher, are one of them and thanks to you, I now know of many others, including Pastor Parrish.
Thank you Alice. Seeing Brother Parrish again after 50 years was such a blessing. We go back a long way. Thank God for preachers who “stay by the stuff.” Thanks for praying for us. We love you.
It’s so funny how you match back then and now. Same hair cut, and mustache, and no glasses then. Same hair, no mustache, and same style of glasses now.
It was a fun set up for sure. Had a great time with them. New “OLD friends”.
