Jesus: Our Example in Victory
I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done — John 13:15
Our Lord Jesus Christ has given us a example of how to live. He left “us an example, that ye should follow his steps” (1 Pet. 2:21). We are “to walk, even as he walked” (1 John 2:6).
Jesus faced all the same problems we face. He was tempted“in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin” (Heb. 4:15). He was victorious over every problem He faced. As we follow His example, we also can deal difficult situations in victory.
How did Jesus deal with Satanic attacks? How did He deal with His enemies the Scribes and Pharisees? How did He deal with false accusations? How did He deal with betrayal? Here is how He handled His problems:
- He had absolute trust and dependance upon His Heavenly Father.
- He applied the Word of God to His personal situation.
- He had a strong and consistent prayer life.
- He walked in the power of the Holy Spirit.
We must handle our problems and difficulties in life the same way. Have an absolute trust and dependance upon God… Apply the Bible to whatever problem we encounter… Stay in close communion with God through prayer… And walk in the fullness of the Spirit.
There is no problem so big that a Christian who walks as Jesus walked cannot overcome. Are you following His example?
