A Meditation On Isaiah 40:29
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.”—Isaiah 40:29
- “He GIVETH…”— Here we see God’s benevolent supply. It is God’s nature to GIVE (James 1:5, 17; John 3:16). There are over 1,600 references to giving in the Bible. The vast majority of these refer to God’s giving! As you give liberally, you demonstrate a characteristic of God.
- And what does God give? “He giveth POWER…” Here we see God’s bountiful strength. God’s strength is sufficient for your every need! His power is made perfect in our weakness.
- And to whom does He give strength to? “…to the FAINT and them that have no might.” This reveals God’s blessed sympathy. He cares for those who are about to faint. He knows our frame that we are dust. God loves to give to those who recognized their need of Him.
Do you feel faint? Are you weak? Do you need God’s power? He is ready to give it if you will wait and trust on Him. We are strong in God in proportion to our trust in God. As your faith fades, you become faint.
“But they that WAIT upon the Lord shall renew their strength…” (Isa. 40:31).
