The Holiness Nightmare!
Isaiah 58:1
Here is a list of private sins that are seldom named (not an exhaustive list). How holy do you think you are?
- The feeling of secret pride in your own success, training, or appearance.
- A feeling of a self-important or independent spirit.
- Putting on a false or exaggerated sense of humility.
- A harsh or sarcastic or unyielding spirit.
- A touchy sensitive spirit.
- A desire to attract the attention of the opposite sex.
- To say or do something to attract attention to yourself.
- A constant complaining about non-essential matters.
- A deceitful or evasive spirit that seeks to give a false impression, or make someone think you are more spiritual than you really are.
- To pick flaws and criticize when you are set aside or unnoticed.
- Lustful and wandering eyes.
- A shrinking from duty or reproach.
- A tendency to retaliate when you don’t get your way.
- Permitting things for yourself you would not permit in others
- A shallow stinginess in thought or desire.
- A feeling of jealousy about the blessing or rewards of another.
- Partiality to certain people, classes of people, or denominations in your dealings.
- Thinking what might have been if something else didn’t happen.
- An unthankful attitude towards your lot in life.
- An unmerciful attitude towards someone who has failed.
Ouch! Whoa! I could go on, but I need to stop here and get some things right with God.

Thanks for that list. I think any honest person can see things that have crept into their lives unaware. I’ve been studying
2 Peter 1: 5-14, which links to 1 Corinthians 13, and…Proverbs 31…along with Psalm 51…Ephesians 6…
You get the picture! 😃
I see “a little leaven leaventh the whole lump” in an ENTIRELY new way now!!
Hope 2020 will be a great year of much clarity and deeper understanding for us All.
