The Sinner’s Guest
“He was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.” —Luke 19:7
Jesus was called a friend of sinners (Luke 7:34). It was meant as an accusation and complaint, but it was accepted as a compliment. It was spoken in contempt, but received in honor. Jesus sought the home of the sinner, Zacchaeus. The Best desires to be the guest of the worst. The home of the sinner becomes the temple of the Lord! “This day is salvation come to this house!”
Jesus changes sinners into saints! He said, “The Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
Praise God! Jesus sought to be my guest, and now He abides as my constant companion and friend. Glory!
