HELPING TOOLS

“The sword of Goliath… And David said, There is none like that; give it me.” —1 Samuel 21:9  

David was without a weapon to defend himself. He asked the priest at the tabernacle if he had weapons. Ahimelech gave David Goliath’s sword.

During World War II, the Great Britain was the last line of resistance against the juggernaut of Nazi oppression in Europe.  Hitler relentlessly attacked the British Isles.  Without resources to defend themselves and fight back, it was only a matter of time before they would collapse.  British Prime Minister Winston Churchill went on BBC radio and appealed to the world: “Give us the tools, and we will finish the job.”  I like that!

This is the same appeal of a dedicated Christian worker who wants to serve God. From the church nursery to the church kitchen, church workers need the right equipment to be effective in their ministries. Sunday School teachers need supplies to teach their class… Missionaries need provisions to serve on the field… Christian musicians need tools to use their talents for God’s glory.

Give Christian workers the tools they need, and they will finish the job (see Ephesians 4:11-12)!
