A Great God = Great Praise
A Great God = Great Praise
“And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the LORD.” —Ezra 3:11
God is great, and therefore deserves great praise. Why is it then, that the praise of many Christian is so shallow and small? Could it be that many have such a little God. They see nothing great about God, therefore there is nothing great about their praise. Their worship is dull… their prayers anemic… their thanksgivings are scanty… and their service is causal.
Great Christians have a great God! He fills their world and instills in them reverent awe. A great God inspires great praise. A puny perception of God generates stunted praise.
In great praise huge cares shrink away. But, when our praise is small, our cares and worries are amplified.
David said in his distress, “Let God be magnified” (Ps. 70:4). As God is magnified, our enemies become weak and our trials become light.
Stop for a moment and contemplate the greatness of your God, then offer Him the praise worthy of His greatness!
“Great is the Lord, and GREATLY to be praised!” (Psalm 48:1).
