Glorifying God
…ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. —1 Corinthians 6:20
What is the main duty of every Christian? Here is the bottom line—We are here to glorify God in everything we do. As Paul wrote, “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God” (1 Cor. 10:31). This is the occupation of heaven now and for eternity (Rev. 4:11).
God is glorified when we bring forth fruit (John 15:8); when we suffer for Him (1 Pet. 4:16); when we are praising Him (Ps. 50:23); when we exercise faith in His promises (Rom. 4:20); when we use our abilities in ministry (1 Pet. 4:11); etc.
Simply put, to glorify God is to make Him look good! Are you making God look good to those around you? That’s your job as a Christian!
