Tandem Truths That Dispel Fear
Tandem Truths That Dispel Fear
Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. — Isaiah 43:1
I love how this verse begins with the admonition “Fear not,” and ends with “thou art mine.” Here is God’s an antidote for fear. Why should we be afraid when we know we belong to Him and God takes care of what is His.
But it doesn’t end there. God says in the next verse, “When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee…” (Isa. 43:2). God not only assures us that we are His, but also He is with us through the storms of life. We are not alone. Notice, God does not say He will keep us from the storms, but goes with us in the storms.
Our peace rests in the tandem truths that we are His and He is with us. “Thou art mine … I will be with thee.” Therefore, “Fear not!”
