Don’t Give Up!

“Cast not away therefore your confidence” —Hebrews 10:35

Evangelist Dean McNeese is coming to preach in our Jubilee August 12-15.  I recently listened to a sermon Brother McNeese preached from the above text titled “Don’t Give Up.”  His main points were:

1. Don’t give up on the PROSPECT of soul winning. People can still be saved if we will get the Gospel to them in time.
2. Don’t give up on the PROPHECY of the rapture. He is still coming at any moment in spite of what the scoffers say. I still get up in the morning thinking, “Perhaps today!”
3. Don’t give up on the POWER of prayer. God is still a prayer hearing and prayer answering God.
4. Don’t give up on the PLACE of the church. The church is still the best thing going on earth.  God works through the agency of the church.
5. Don’t give up on the PILLARS of the faith. Today, many will not endure sound doctrine, but prefer to have their ear tickled instead of their soul fed. The fundamental doctrines of the faith are still important and we must earnestly contend for the faith.
6. Don’t give up on the PROMISES of God in the midst of your trial. Once you give up on God’s promises, everything is hopeless.

Amen! Don’t cast away your confidence. Our confidence is in what God has said in His Word.
