Zealous Witnessing

Come with me, and see my zeal for the LORD. —2 Kings 10:16

I remember the first time I met Bob Usher. Bob owned a barbershop and was an enthusiastic witness for the Lord at Open Door Baptist Church in Lynnwood, WA.  I was with Pastor Ken Blue on his way to get a hair-cut at Bob’s barber shop.  As we walked in, there was Bob with a customer in his chair getting a shave. The customer’s face was lathered and Bob stood before him with a straight razor in his hand, as he asked, “Are you ready to meet God?” The customer’s eyes got wide and Bob had his undivided attention as he presented the Gospel.

While I might not recommend Bob’s approach, I do commend him for his zeal.  Would that all Christians would take advantage of every opportunity to boldly witness to the lost about Jesus.
