Be A Blessing
Be A Blessing
“I will bless thee… and thou shalt be a blessing“ —Genesis 12:2
God blessed Abraham so Abraham could be a blessing to the entire world (Gen. 12:1-2). God never blesses you so you can keep it to yourself. God’s blessings are meant to be shared. God blesses you so you can be a blessing to others.
God comforts you, not for your own sake, but that you might comfort another. God “comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God” (2 Cor. 1:4).
When we are treated with kindness, that kindness should be returned to others (2 Sam. 10:2).
You are taught that you might teach others what you have learned (Mt. 28:19-20; Ps. 78:1-7). Paul wrote to Timothy, “The things that thous hast heard of me… the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall teach others also” (2 Tim. 2:2).
God gives you light that you might be a light (Luke 2:32)… God helps you so you can help another… God encourages you so you can encourage someone else who is discouraged.
You are “God’s conduit.” God pours out His love into your heart that it might flow out to others (Rom. 5:5).
What are you doing with God’s blessings? May we pray as we sing:
Make me a blessing,
Make me a blessing,
Out of my life, may Jesus shine;
Make me a blessing, O savior, I pray,
Make me a blessing to someone today.
Who will you be a blessing to today?
Be blessed, and be a blessing!
