OUR UNIFORM
Our Uniform
“Put on the new man…” —Ephesians 4:24; Colossians 3:10
Last week Barb and I visited our daughter Joyce’s house. She showed us some new pictures hanging on her wall of our grandsons Anders and Ethan neatly dressed in their Air Force uniforms. It gave me a new perspective of who they have become—Airmen serving our country in the United States Air Force! I have to admit I felt a sense of pride.
I’m reminded of something Eunice McGarrahan once said, “A costume is something you put on and pretend that you are what you are wearing. A uniform, on the other hand, reminds you that you are, in fact, what you wear.”
The Bible tells us to “put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness” (Eph. 4:24). Again in Colossians 3:10, “put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him.” The uniform of “the new man” reminds the Christian of who he is. I am a new man… a new creature in Christ… righteous and holy. This uniform reflects the image of Christ.
Have you “put on” the uniform of being a Christian? Remember, what you wear reflects what you are.

Preacher,
I agree with Barb, great analogy. Those of us who have worn the uniform of our country’s armed services can really appreciate these words. Thanks! Dewey
That’s a great analogy… thank you
