Lights In The Darkness
That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world. —Philippians 2:15
We live in a very dark world. Spiritually, the only light in this world is the light of God’s Word and the light of believers as they reflect the light of Christ.
I enjoy going for a early morning walk around our neighborhood before the sun comes up. It is dark and the only light is what shines from porch lights on houses along our street. If it were not for these porch lights it would be almost impossible to see the street.
I thought to myself, Christians are like these porch lights. We shine in the darkness of this world to shed some light on the pathway so people can find their way.
As the little chorus goes, “This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.” Keep shining for Jesus so someone can find their way!
