IMPROVING WITH AGE
For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. —2 Corinthians 4:16
Somethings improve with age: Cheese… Fruit trees… compost… a bird’s song… leather… friendships… etc.
Many dread the idea they are getting older. But aging is a blessing (and it beats the alternative!). Christians have the capacity to become significantly better with age. Paul writes, “…though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.” (2 Cor. 4:16).
As we are renewed from within, it will be evidenced by our outward disposition. Rather than becoming more cranky, narrow-minded, and unloving, the mature Christian grows better at forgiving, loving, and caring.
So as you grow older, embrace your opportunities to become wiser and more like Jesus. Your friends will notice that you are looking better all the time (without Botox or cosmetic surgery)!
