Keep Your Eyes On Jesus

Keep Your Eyes On Jesus

Looking unto Jesus… consider him… lest ye be wearied and faith… striving against sin. —Hebrews 12:2-4 (in part)

On my computer desktop is display of a portrait of my wife and four daughters. It’s the first thing I see when I turn on my computer. What’s the first image you see when you turn on your computer?

I read about one man who was battling with on-line pornography. This is a problem that one out of every three men deal with. This man found a simple strategy that helped him win this battle with lust. He put an image of Christ dying on the cross on his computer desktop. That constant reminder of the One who died on Calvary to set him free from sin caused the offensive Web sites to lose their appeal.

When we look unto Jesus and consider Him and the price He paid for our salvation, it will keep us from becoming weary in our striving against sin. The best way to keep sin at a distance is to put Jesus between you and temptation.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face;
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace. —Lemmel
