“After Easter”

“…intending after Easter…” — Acts 12:4

Did you go to church on Easter Sunday? I hope so. Sadly however, while Easter is the most attended church service of the year, most do not intend to attend on successive Sundays.

It is not showing up at church on special day but faithfulness to God on every day that matters. Putting in an appearance on a special occasion and then being conspicuously absent during regular services is a canker of our church life. Christmas and Easter Christians, the holly-and-lilies crowd, make poor soldiers of the cross and followers of the Lamb.

The real test of our Christianity is what we intend to do “after Easter.”
