Are You An Atheist?

“The fool has said in his heart, There is no God.” —Psalm 14:1

A “theist” is one who believes there is a God. An “atheist” means “no God.” There are two varieties of atheists:

First, there is your typical PROFESSING atheist who SAYS there is no God. They are often found teaching in public schools and universities.

Second, there is the PRACTICAL atheist who LIVES like there is no God. They are sometimes found in the pews of Baptist churches. They don’t verbally deny God—they just ignore God. “God is not in all his thoughts” (Ps. 10:4). They say “there is no God” by the way they manage their finances—They don’t tithe or support missions. They say “there is no God” by the way they raise their families— They have no family devotions and rarely take their families to church. They say “there is no God” by the way the spend their time— No time in prayer, Bible study, or soul winning.

It doesn’t matter if a person is a professing atheist or practical atheist — Anyone who SAYS there is no God or lives like there is no God is a fool.
