Beware of Gloating
Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth: Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him. —Proverbs 24:17-18
While I’m glad the world is rid of the terrorist and mass-murderer Osama Bin Laden, it is troubling to me how people are celebrating his death, particularly New Testament Christians. There is just something not right about a picture of the Statue of Liberty holding a bloody head of Osama Bin Laden being passed around the internet.
I’m concerned that all this gloating may come back to bite us.
Lets just be thankful for all involved in bringing this terrorist to justice, from our President to those gallant Navy Seals.
It’s time to move on. The faster we can put the memory of Bin Laden to rest, the better.
