Comfort In the Judgment of God

Comfort In the Judgment of God

I remembered thy judgments of old, O LORD; and have comforted myself. —Psalms 119:52

Whereas many people would deny or dread the fact of God’s judgment, there is a great comfort in knowing God will judge everyone’s life. If God does not judge a person, it means the actions of that person have no ultimate value. If there is no ultimate value in a person’s actions his life devoid of meaning and his existence as totally inconsequential.

If God is not going to judge my actions, then my life is no different than an animal—Live, die, and be buried. But, the judgment of God shows the intrinsic value of human life. Since God regards what we do important enough to judge, He must regard what we are important enough to matter.

Now, that is comforting to know.
