CREATING A THIRST
“…maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are save, and in them that perish…” —2 Corinthians 2:14-15
People should “smell” Jesus all over us!
A young salesman was disappointed about losing a big sale, and as he talked with his sales manager he lamented, “I guess it just proves you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink.”
The manager replied, “Son, take my advice: your job is not to make him drink. Your job is to make him thirsty.”
So it is with witnessing for our Savior. We can’t make a person drink the “water of Life” but we can “salt the oats” by living for Jesus to create a thirst for Jesus in others. Jesus said that we are “the salt of the earth” (Mt. 5:13). Salt should make a person thirsty.
What kind of fragrance does your life give off? Do you smell like Jesus… or do you just “stink?” (read Ecclesiastes 10:1)
