FAREWELL

FAREWELL

passing the swordThe last 32 years have been the greatest years of my life. It’s been an incredible journey.  God has given me the privilege to serve Him side-by-side with some of the best Christians I’ve ever met.  Nothing you see here would be possible apart from God’s grace and faithful people who invested their time, talents and treasures into this ministry. THANK YOU!

Thank you for treating Barb and I so unselfishly since coming here in 1986.  You have prayed for us… served with us… supported us… and loved us.  You will always be in our hearts!

I assure you the best days of Bible Baptist Church are still ahead. I’m looking forward to hearing reports of how God is continuing to bless this church.

I believe God will use Pastor DeSpain to lead BBC to greater levels of growth that I would ever be able to do.   I trust you will treat him and Kimberly as well as you have treated Barb and I through the years.

The Bible says we are in a race. It is like a relay race where one runner passes the baton to the next runner.  My portion of this race is over and it’s time to pass the baton to Pastor DeSpain.  Instead of a baton, I want to pass a symbol of what Bible Baptist Church has stood for since it’s beginning in the late 1950’s—THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT—THE WORD OF GOD.

Pastor DeSpain, please join me here.  I present to you and the people of Bible Baptist Church this two-edged sword as a reminder to keep the main thing the main thing—PREACHING THE WORD.

I love you all and will continue to pray for you.  Please remember Barb and I in your prayers.

Now, keep on, keeping on, til Jesus comes.   We will see you HERE… THERE… or IN THE AIR! Amen!
