GOD HATH SPOKEN
The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken… —Psalms 50:1
O LORD God, the word that thou hast spoken … do as thou hast said. —2 Samuel 7:25
Thus saith the Lord GOD… the word which I have spoken shall be done, saith the Lord GOD. —Ezekiel 12:28
I the LORD have spoken it: it shall come to pass, and I will do it. —Ezekiel 24:14
He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. —Hebrews 13:5
There is a cliche that says, “God said it, I believe it, and that settles it.” It would be better said this way: “God said it and that settles it, period!” What God said is so whether we believe it or not!
God has spoken and that is sufficient. If you cannot depend on His Word, you would not be convinced by any work. Jesus rose from the dead, and still there are those who are persuaded. “He hath said,” and if that is not enough, nothing else would ever be enough.
Faith is simply taking God at His Word. He will abundantly prove what He has promised, but not until we stand on the promise alone. “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” (Numbers 23:19).
What more can He say
Than to you He hath said,
To you who for refuge
To Jesus have fled?
