God’s Love Conduit
God’s Love Conduit
“…the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” —Romans 5:5
A conduit is a channel or tube through which water or electricity can be conveyed from one point to another. God’s love has been shed abroad into your heart by the Holy Ghost so you can be a conduit of God’s love to others.
An empty piece of conduit is not worth much. It’s value is realized when it is used to convey something of greater value from one point to another. The value is in what is conveyed within the conduit.
Our church building has hundreds of feet of conduit running through it’s walls. Electrical wires have been pulled through the conduit. One end of the wires is connected to the power source. The other end is connected to electrical outlets and light fixtures. Electrical power flows through that conduit and used to bring light to a dark room… to cause furnaces to heat our building… to make P.A. speakers to be heard, or power whatever else is plugged into it.
Christians are connected to the source of love—God. That same love is to flow through our bodies as conduit so God can love people through you and I. Someone may say, “I cannot love that person.” It is not up to you to love that person. Your job is to be a conduit through which God can love that person through you.
People need to see the mighty love of God flowing from you to them—See it in your compassion… See it in your unselfishness… See it in your forgiveness… See it in your deeds (1 John 3:16-18).
As electrical current that runs through conduit may be short-circuited—Likewise, certain obstacles can short-circuit the receiving or conveying God’s love. If our hearts clogged with selfishness… our wires are frayed by sin… or if we are unaware of our role as God’s conduit, God’s love will never be conveyed to others who need to know God loves them.
Will you be God’s conduit in your neighborhood… where you work… at your school?
