God’s Still Working On Me
God’s Still Working On Me!
“He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ” — Philippians 1:6
When God saved your soul, that wasn’t the end, but only the beginning of God’s work in you. Even after Paul was saved for over 30 years he confessed, “Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I COUNT NOT MYSELF TO HAVE APPREHENDED” (Phil. 3:12-13).
- If you think you have it all figured out, you don’t.
- If you are content where you are at spiritually, then you are far, far from where you need you be. You still have a lot of growing up to do.
- If you think you know the Bible so well that you can skip church… skip Bible study… skip prayer, you couldn’t be more wrong or deceived.
However, If you realize you still have a long way to go until God has perfected His work in you and that you NEED Jesus every moment of every day simply to stay on track — THEN you have matured enough to know that YOU ARE A WORK IN PROGRESS! You are still being conformed to the image of Christ (Rom. 8:28-29).
As the chorus goes, “He’s still working on me! To make me what I ought to be!” Be patient. God’s not through with me… yet!
