He Knows How It Is

He knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust. —Psalm 103:14

Have you come to the end of a very hard day, when everything has gone wrong, and you can’t even think of how to pray an intelligent prayer. Frustrated, you sigh unto God, “Well Lord… You know how it is!”

Yes He does. And what a blessed relief to know that when we do the best we can, He takes all the loose ends and ragged edges and binds them into a perfect whole. He makes up all the deficiencies, and smooths out all the rough edges corners. He knows the heart’s intent and credits the soul’s sincere desire, though it be poorly expressed in the deed.

Of course, this is no excuse for slothfulness. Do your very best. But remember that your very best is very poor. He will perfect it in Himself.

Amen! He knows how it is.
