Hip Hop Hope Ministry at “The Hangar” in Brookshire, TX
Amy Lessing is a volunteer at the “The Hangar” in Brookshire, TX. Brookshire has the highest crime rate (per capita) in Texas. 92% of the teens in Brookshire come from dysfunctional broken families and most are addicted to drugs. God has raised up a ministry run by “Eyes On Me” incorporated called Hip Hop Hope. This ministry is effectively reaching many of these troubled teens for the Lord Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord! It is a miracle how God has supplied for this ministry’s needs. The coordinator is Ryan Orbin.
You may watch Ryan’s stirring “Story for His Glory”at https://youtu.be/FLIJjYYtdpQ
Also the testimony of Bobby Herring is at https://youtu.be/991rm4pLV18
While I am not a fan of “Hip-Hop,” I understand most troubled teens in a crime riddled community like Brookshire will never be reached with traditional hymns of the faith. They must be reached on their level and Hip Hop Hope is doing exactly that. They are winning teens who are practically forgotten by traditional local churches. Their Sunday afternoon service at the Hangar is called “Out of the Box Church.” May their tribe increase.
While the doctrine we preach from God’s preserved Word never changes, our methods of ministry may change depending on the times or culture we are in. Hebrews 7:12 indicates the priesthood changed and necessitated “a change also of the law.”
Please pray for Ryan Orbin and this exciting ministry! They’re doing a great work.
