Is the Bible the Word of God? – Part 1
ONLY FOUR POSITIONS
This is Part One of a series on the question: Is the Bible the Word of God?
People say, I believe the Bible is the Word of God. However, do they realize what they are saying? For example, what do they mean by the Bible? Do they mean the Bible they hold in their hands? Or, do they mean the so-called “original manuscripts”? The problem with the “original manuscripts” is, they were never compiled into one Book called the Holy Bible By the time the canon was settled concerning the 66 books we have in our Bible, the original
manuscripts had all perished. All that was left was copies of copies.
There are only four possible positions when it comes to the Bible:
- The Bible is the Word of God. (This is the Bible believer’s position.)
- The Bible contains the Word of God. Or, stated another way: The Bible was the Word of God at one time, but errors have crept in. (This is the neo-orthodox position.)
- The Bible is not the Word of God at all. (This is the atheistic position.)
- I don’t know if the Bible is the Word of God or not, but I willing to investigate it’s reliability. (This is the honest agnostic’s position.)
Everyone reading this falls under one of these categories. Which one do you believe? Think carefully before you answer. There are serious implications to each one.
In Part Two, I will begin a closer examination of these four positions to see which one holds up under deductive reasoning.

One Reply to “Is the Bible the Word of God? – Part 1”
I believe the bible in its original text and language was the true word of GOD. But since Alexandrian codexes and masoretic versions have been in some cases corrupted by people such as the gnostics, we have to look for many versions such as “textus receptus” of the East Orthodox church to help root out errors. But the Holy Spirit has placed some remarkable codings into the text to protect it from hostile jammings as we say in the intelligence business. These include gametria, mathmatical formulations and Equileteral Distance Sequencing known as ELS as just some of the safeguards. When we find discrepancies of various texts almost invariably we will find embedded codes are distorted. It is an amazing science.
