Jesus’ Birthday Party?
A few years ago, someone gave me this little poem.
I had a birthday party, most everybody came. They all had a great time, But no one spoke My name. They gave each other gifts, as nice as they could be. All wrapped with pretty bows, But not a one was for Me. Stores were filled with shoppers, The restaurants crowded out, But no one seemed to know what the party was all about. You see, it was My birthday. They didn’t even know. And that’s why from heaven, My heart is grieving so. I came to earth from heaven on that first Christmas day— Born in a lowly manger, From sin to show the way. I died on Calvary, upon a cruel rugged cross; To save a world of sinners from the pain of eternal loss. When you next have a party, with presents, friends and tree, Remember Me, your Savior, who came to set you free.
—Jesus
P.S. I am coming again soon.
