Lost & Found
He Found Me
“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” — Luke 19:10
“I have found my sheep which was lost”(Luke 15:6).
I’ve heard some people say, “Jesus found me.” I know what they mean, but Scripturally, they did not find Jesus, Jesus found them! The Bible says, “there is NONE that seeketh after God” (Rom. 3:11). No one looks for God! God is looking for them! One song says, “He Came Looking for Me!” Lost sheep don’t look for the shepherd. The shepherd looks for the lost sheep. Jesus is the shepherd who goes “after that which is lost, until HE FIND IT” (Luke 15:5)
Jesus found Peter at the shore of the Sea of Galilee (Mt. 4:18-20). He found Matthew at the receipt of customs (Mt. 9:3). He found the woman of Samaria at Jacob’s well (John 4). He found Paul on the road to Damascus (Acts 9).
It was in December of 1967 that the Lord found me. He found me on the second floor of a run-down boarding house in Plymouth, Michigan. Now here I am 51 years later on my birthday. The Lord has never left me! As an old saying goes: “Finders, keepers!” He sought me and He bought me with His redeeming blood! Jesus found me and He is keeping me! Praise the Lord!
Can you remember where the Lord found you? Maybe is was at the altar of a church. Maybe it was in a car? Maybe it was in your house or by your bedside?
If you cannot remember where the Lord found you, maybe you should make sure you have really been found.
