Reconnecting with Bob Barthel

Last Wednesday (1/9) Barb and I attended West Jacksonville Baptist Church again (our third visit). We love this great church. [http://www.westjaxbaptist.org/] It reminds me a lot of BBC in Port Orchard.  Barb and I will definite visit this great church again before we leave Jacksonville.

I was pleasantly surprised to find Bob Barthel singing in their choir.  In the mid 1960’s Brother Barthel and I attended the same High School (Redford Union).  And he was my classmate at Midwestern in the early ’70’s.  Small world!  Bob graduated from Midwestern one year after I did and went on to start several churches. He also pastored the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Brunswick, Georgia.  Barb and I attended this church while Brother Barthel was the pastor several years ago.  I’m looking forward to having lunch with Bob sometime this week! We have a lot of “catching-up” to do!
