RING THE BELL
Call unto me, and I will answer thee… — Jeremiah 33:3
Too often we are like someone who goes to a store, gathers what they need, but finds no one at the cash register. However, there is a bell at the counter with a sign: “Ring bell for service.” Frequently we hesitate to ring the bell because we don’t want to appear impatient or demanding, or we don’t want to interrupt the clerk from what they may be doing. We fail to realize that the shop keeper has actually provided the bell because he wants his customers to use it!
This is the point of Hebrews 4:16— “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” If God has provided a throne of grace for us, He intends for us to use it and receive the grace we need at that moment! Don’t be afraid to “ring the bell” at the throne. God put it there for that purpose.
