The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. —Ezekiel 18:20
Hanging out with good people is no guarantee you’ll turn out OK. Gehazi ran with Elisha but ended as a leper. Judas Iscariot was a walked with Jesus for three years but he died a reprobate and a suicide. Lot hung with Abraham but ended up losing everything in Sodom. Demas was an close associate of Paul but wound up an apostate.
While it is good to have the right spiritual friends, it is no substitute for your own spirituality. You must not only walk with the right people, you need to walk with God yourself. You cannot go to heaven on your parents faith or your friend’s faith. You must have your own personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Are you walking with God yourself?
