Gordie Raatz (11/12/1927 – 7/27/2014) was my father in the faith; he lead me to Christ in December, 1967, and had a profound impact on my life and ministry!

He had a passion for witnessing to the lost and was a bold and effective soul winner. Gordie was saved from a wicked life of sin.  I recently preached his memorial service in Arizona, and my message is included here with an audio testimony that he gave at our church in May, 1997.

Listen and be blessed and encouraged.   Gordie’s wife Bev sings prior to Gordie giving his testimony.

  1. Thank You, just hearing my grandpa’s voice, I can close my eyes and he’s still sitting next too me. This means the world to me.

  2. Thanks Dewey. I’m glad that Gordie’s testimony was a blessing and he is still “speaking” beyond the grave!

  3. Pastor,

I just read the sermon from Gordy’s service and listened to his testimony. I know that you sent this several months ago and I have been waiting for time when I could give it my full attention.

Gordy’s message is precious to me. I would have liked to have known him here and I do look forward to meeting him one day. I was encouraged and humbled by this man’s testimony. Thank you for sharing it with us!

    Brother Dewey

  4. Thank you again Pastor Al,
For letting us to share in your impressive library contribution, which we will I am sure, be able to use to the furtherance of the Kingdom of God.
You have quite a library that you have collated over the time of you being in your successful ministry there, at the Bible Baptist Church!
We do pray that people will come to know Him and grow in grace and find God’s will for their lives!
    Thank you
