The After Christmas “Blahs”

The After Christmas “Blahs”

It’s the day after Christmas. Surveys indicate that December 26th is the “blahest” day of the year. The glow on the tree is a little dimmer because the anticipation of the day is now past. You feel guilty about all the calories you’ve eaten and the weight you’ve gained.

Ever feel that way about your walk with the Lord? Well, let me give you some good news. The best is yet to be! That’s right. Christmas Day is past, but Resurrection Day is coming soon, and I don’t mean Easter. I mean the Second Coming of Our Lord is imminently on the horizon. He is coming again. And that’s not just a nice thing—that’s a rock-ribbed truth! Jesus is coming again!

There were no “after Christmas blahs” on that first Christmas 2,000 years ago. The lives of those shepherds were changed. They never got over what they had heard and seen. They had something to praise God about… and so do you if you’ve met Jesus! Luke 2:17, 20 says of the shepherds, “And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child… And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen…” The cure for the “after Christmas blahs” is get out and tell someone about Jesus and what He had done for you.

Then glorify and praise Him for the hope of His coming again! PERHAPS TODAY!
