The Ark Encounter (10/13/18)

The Ark Encounter (10/13/18)

Awesome! Amazing! Astounding!  That was is my impression after visiting “The Ark Encounter” yesterday in Williamstown, KY.  This full size replica of Noah’s ark is the largest free standing timber frame structure in the world. Thousands of people visit here everyday. It takes all day to see most everything.  The exhibits are fascinating and informative. Ken Ham’s organization (Answers in Genesis) has done a marvelous job defending the world-wide flood described in the Bible. I don’t see how any open-minded skeptic could walk away from this exhibit and remain unmoved.  Every time I read Genesis 6-10 in the future I’ll remember what I learned today.

I encourage everyone to visit this world-class exhibition and see for yourself. Pictures and video do not do it justice (see pictures below). My only suggestion is go to “The Ark Encounter” off-season and during a weekday.  We went on a Saturday and it was very crowded. [NOTE: While you are in the area also visit the Ark’s “sister attraction,” the Creation Museum in Petersburg, KY (about 45 minutes away].

At the door of the ark. If you look close you’ll see a shadow of the cross on the door. The door is a picture of Christ being the only way of salvation.

  2. That looks awesome. Now I want to go see it. I didn’t even know there was a replica. Love seeing all your adventures.

  3. On a side note, it began to sprinkle again as we left the ark. When the shuttle bus left the area, the sun was shining. Al commented that the sun was shining here, but not there. I said, “It’s supposed to rain on the ark, right?”

  4. I love it!!! Thanks for sharing the awesome pictures. I got teary eyed when I saw the cross on the doors. A new addition to my bucket list!

    1. We heard so much about it, we had to check it out for ourselves. Glad we did. It is a trip worth taking. Thanks for praying for us. We love and miss you.
