The Ark Encounter (10/13/18)
Awesome! Amazing! Astounding! That was is my impression after visiting “The Ark Encounter” yesterday in Williamstown, KY. This full size replica of Noah’s ark is the largest free standing timber frame structure in the world. Thousands of people visit here everyday. It takes all day to see most everything. The exhibits are fascinating and informative. Ken Ham’s organization (Answers in Genesis) has done a marvelous job defending the world-wide flood described in the Bible. I don’t see how any open-minded skeptic could walk away from this exhibit and remain unmoved. Every time I read Genesis 6-10 in the future I’ll remember what I learned today.
I encourage everyone to visit this world-class exhibition and see for yourself. Pictures and video do not do it justice (see pictures below). My only suggestion is go to “The Ark Encounter” off-season and during a weekday. We went on a Saturday and it was very crowded. [NOTE: While you are in the area also visit the Ark’s “sister attraction,” the Creation Museum in Petersburg, KY (about 45 minutes away].

On a side note, it began to sprinkle again as we left the ark. When the shuttle bus left the area, the sun was shining. Al commented that the sun was shining here, but not there. I said, “It’s supposed to rain on the ark, right?”
I love it!!! Thanks for sharing the awesome pictures. I got teary eyed when I saw the cross on the doors. A new addition to my bucket list!
Everything at the Ark Encounter is to point people to Jesus. Hope you can see it someday.
