The Most Important Thing About You

The Most Important Thing About You

  • Believe ye that I am able to do this? —Matthew 9:28
  • Dost thou believe… —John 9:35
  • Believest thou this? —John 11:26

The most important thing about you is not who you are or what you can do.  The most important thing about you is what you truly believe in the core of your being. Why? Because what you believe determines how you behave.  People with behavioral problems really have belief problems. If a person doesn’t believe right, he is not going to behave right.  When a person behaves wrongly, it is because he is believing wrongly—He is believing something that is wrong or untrue.

If a person believes there is no God, he will behave like there is no God. If a person believes he can get away with sin, he will commit sin. Or, if he believes his behavior is not sinful, he will continue in that behavior. If he believes a situation is hopeless, he will despair. If a person believes prayer does no good, he will cease to pray.

Therefore, to correct misbehavior, we must correct misbeliefs.  We must stop believing a lie and believe what is true.

If we really believed everything what we say we believe, we would behave much differently than we do.
