The Mystery of the Incarnation
…great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh…—1 Timothy 3:16
In my theology class at Bible college we studied Christology. In this class we learned all the important truths about Jesus. There is nothing wrong with that. We should know as much about Jesus as we can, but it must not stop there. If all you know are the facts about Jesus, He has become nothing more than a doctrine in your mind. He is more than a doctrine. He is a Person… a real person with real feelings.
But it gets a little “crazy” when you start talking about Jesus being God and man all at the same time. The God who is omnipresent, omnipotent, and omniscient—The God who is the Creator of all things… the sustainer of all things… the ruler of the universe, becoming a baby, and nursing on a woman’s breast! Now you gotta admit, it’s a little weird.
I don’t have any problem believing Jesus is God. And I don’t have a problem with Jesus being a man. But when you combine these two truths into one person, it is no wonder you have cults like Jehovah Witnesses and Mormons! The doctrine of the incarnation drives them nuts! Jesus was not simply God dressed up in a “man suit.” Oh, no! Jesus is the God-Man—100% God and 100% Man in one Person.
Be careful about reducing Jesus to merely hard doctrinal truths. Never lose touch with Him as a Person who loves and cares deeply for you, while at the same time is powerful enough to help you when you pray and take you to heaven. That is the God of the Bible, and the God who dwells within you.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

And He sealed the Believer with the Spirit of the God-Man, the Spirit of Jesus the Spirit of the Almighty Most High God….and “made” me to sit at the right hand of Abba, “Daddy” in heavenly places. Yikes!!!, such beautiful good news, such Abounding, AMAZING Grace and Truth. Hey Jesus said, “if you’ve seen me you’ve seen the father”… Good enough for me to just take Him at his word, then move on into who I am “in” Christ, and what I have “in” Christ. Wow, it’s a Good Life in the God-Man and I’m thankful I’m forever secured!! Do you realize we became part of the mystery, as revealed to Paul, Christ in you, the hope of glory. Upon our belief we were given the most fabulous gift on earth 1 Cor 12:13 – by the Spirit we were put into the “body of Christ” (the God-Man). we became part of the Lord Jesus Christ, in his death burial and resurrection, which he died for us and we died with him. Even the circumcision made without hands to put off the body of sin and made us one with Him, the operation of God!!! WOW, what a Gift!! Yes, and without Him (Jesus, the God-Man, the Spirit of Jesus) nothing was made that was made. What did God (Elohim) say in the beginning. “Let “US” make man in our own image.” AMEN He is good!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!
I may not fully understand the Holy Trinity, but I am so glad I have my God as the powerful God Almighty to reign over the universe, doing his perfect will, The Holy Spirit, my comforter, and Jesus, my savior and friend, one who lived a mortal life just like me, who understands the life I am living, and died so that I might live with all three forever. The three are My God! I am blessed!
