The Sack of Rocks

The Sack of Rocks

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. — Matthew 11:28

I read in some places in Alaska when a child does something wrong, they put a rock in the kid’s backpack. When the child does something good, they take one out.

I’ve been toting a sack of rocks on my back a long time. I’m beginning to stoop under the weight. But if I strain enough, I can force myself to straighten up and fake like I don’t have a care in the world.

Finally, I realized I don’t have to strain and fake it. God had a better solution for my sack of rocks on my back. I thought He might take a few rocks out of my sack, but instead He wanted me to give Him the whole sack! What a relief.

Are you carrying a sack of rocks on your back. Run to Jesus and cast the sack on Him. He will give you rest.
