THE STRAIGHTENING PROCESS
“I will make…crooked things straight.” —Isaiah 42:5
Do you want to know how to get frustrated? Just try to straighten out the world and the people around you. You will not only wear yourself out trying, you’ll probably alienate those you try to straighten out.
There is no question we live “in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation” (Phil. 2:15), but you’ll not make it straight. There is only One who can straighten out this world… and your boss… and your family… and your church. That Person is God. He is the great “straightener-outer.”
In Luke 13 there was a woman who was bent over for eighteen years. She “could in no wise lift up herself.” There was only One who could straighten her back—Jesus! And the Bible says Jesus “laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.”
Do yourself a favor and leave the straightening process to the Lord. He says, “I will make…crooked things straight.”
