The Strength of My Life
The LORD is the strength of my life… —Psalm 27:1
Recently I’ve been dealing with some fatigue. Seems my energy level is lower than usual. I mentioned to my doctor at my annual physical recently. He chalked it up to getting older. However, as I read my Bible, I think it may be I’m attempting to labor in the energy of the flesh. The problem is not my weakness, but my natural strength. It is not that I’m too weak, but too strong. God tells us His strength is made perfect in our weakness.
King Uzziah was marvelously helped till he was strong. Hebrews 11 tells us of the heroes of the faith, “…out of weakness were made strong.”
It is not our strength we are to offer to the Lord—He doesn’t want it! He is strong without out strength. No, we can only offer God our weakness. He wants to show HIMSELF STRONG on our behalf (2 Chron. 16:9).
Let us confess our inadequacy, and abandon our reliance upon our natural abilities and resources. May we be content to be nothing, and let Him be everything.
