The Ten Commandments
The Ten Commandments
He wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.—Exodus 34:26
I was recently blessed by this old British school poem used to help children learn the Ten Commandments:
Above all else love God alone;
Bow down to neither wood or stone
God’s name never take in vain;
The Sabbath rest with care maintain.
Respect your parent all your days;
Hold sacred human life always.
Be loyal to your chosen mate;
Steal nothing, neither small nor great.
Report with truth, your neighbor’s deed;
And rid your heart of selfish greed.
Amen!
