Throughly Furnished
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. —2 Timothy 3:16-17
One of my grandsons has a Swiss Army Knife. It has about a dozen or more different blades including several knives, a saw, scissors, a magnifying glass, can opener, screwdriver, etc — all in one pocketknife. When he takes this knife on a campout, he is fully equipped for survival.
The Bible is like that Swiss Army knife. It throughly furnishes us with everything we need to survive in this wicked world. God has provided “unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness” (2 Pet. 1:3).
God Word provides us with doctrine to teach us what is right. It supplies us with reproof to show us what is wrong. It gives us correction to make wrong things right. It instructs us in how to keep things right.

In some circles that is affectionately called a “Geek Knife” or “Geek Tool”. The phrase was originally coined, I believe to be a slam at the Leatherman tool. I have been studying scripture a lot lately and have begun to realize the value of grace. This is an offshoot of a bilble study concerning living as God would have us live. It has been a wonderful insight and I am excited about it. Dewey
