Unconditional Love
Unconditional Love
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. —Romans 5:8
I heard about a soldier whose face was disfigured in war. When he returned back home he was greeted by his wife. He regretted that his wife would see his disfigured face and told her, “Sweetheart, I’m so sorry about my face.” She smiled and hugged him saying, “Darling, I love you, and frankly, you weren’t that good looking before you left.”
God loves us like that. I really try to “look good” for God, but often fail. I get embarrassed when my behavior doesn’t look as good as I wished it did. But God’s love for me remains the same and He tells me, “Al, you weren’t that good looking when I found you back in 1967. I loved you then, and I still love you today!”
Praise God, His love never changes no matter how much our lives get disfigured.
