“Wait And See”

“Wait And See”

“Why did you do that???” Have you ever been asked that? Or,  have you ever asked that question yourself? There are some who must know immediately the reason why you do what you do. They want you to explain your actions.  I’m tempted to answer, “Wait and see, and then you’ll know why.” (see 1 Kings 22:24-25).
Jesus never had to justify His actions or His behavior.  He merely allowed time to pass. With the passing of time it would eventually become apparent why He did what He did.
For example, Jesus delayed three days to come to Bethany when Mary and Martha informed Him of their brother’s sickness.  Jesus’ delay could have been misinterpreted that He did not care about Lazarus.  However, Jesus’ delay was more than vindicated when He eventually showed up and raised Lazarus from the dead.
Like Job, we often want God to give us an reason for why He does (or doesn’t do) a particular thing we ask (Job 9:12; 33:13).   God doesn’t owe us any explanation for His actions (Dan. 4:35). We just need to trust God and “wait and see” how His plan unfolds. It would require no faith to “see” the end before “waiting” to see God to perform His will. We are to walk by faith, and not by sight!
Jesus said, “What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter” (John 13:7).  Amen!  Wait and see!
